FREDERICK GAMERITH
Born 1969 in Austria. Grew up in a family of musicians
outside Vienna. Began musical education at the age of seven, studying
and performing classical and folk music. Made numerous appearances on
TV and radio with the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (0RF).
Began writing and performing original material with his own band at thirteen.
Major musical influences: Beatles/Billy Joel/Nat King Cole/Sinatra.
1986 - lived and studied in Barbados, performed
first piano bar gigs.
1988 - spent 6 months in the USA, worked at the
Met in New York.
1989 - studied for two years jazz piano at Vienna
Conservatorium for Music.
1991 - began jazz vocal study at the Music Academy
in Graz/Austria (three years). Studied with Andy Bey, Sheila Jordan, Mark
Murphy; workshops with Art Farmer, Wynton Marsalis, Jay Clayton et al.
1992 - Started working professionally as a piano
entertainer.
1994 - moved to London to complete education with
a postgraduate one year course at the Guildhall School of Music &
Drama.
1995-97 - Worked as piano entertainer in Sweden,
Iceland, Germany, Austria, Scotland; on North Sea Ferries and P&O
Cruises.
1997-99 - Performances and residencies at the
Barbican, Vortex, Islington Festival, Hyatt Carlton Towers, Landmark Hotel,
Churchill Hotel, Park Lane Intercontinental, Marriott, Waldorf Meridien,
Silver Sturgeon, Scott's, Harrods, Conrad International, The Dorchester.
1999-present - Worked in South Africa, France, Iceland,
Norway and on Color Line Cruises.
