IAN COOPER

Ian Cooper

Ian Cooper is Australia's most exciting young fiddler.  He made his Sydney Opera House debut at the age of six, and is now a Warner Brothers recording artist with seven CDs to his credit.  Ian is a regular attraction at many festivals and concert venues throughout Australia, Europe, Japan and New Zealand and his humorous show draws on many musical styles from gyspy, jazz, the classics, Rock 'n' Roll, Latin America, the Blues and Cowboy music.

Ian began his world travels at age six, and wowed audiences as a child star in the USA and Canada, before he was awarded a scholarship by the NSW Conservatorium of Music at the age of eight.

A crucial moment came at age eighteen when Ian met the great French violinist Stephane Grappelli and decided to swing his attention towards jazz music.  He has since performed with such artists as James Morrison, Neil Sedaka, George Benson, Andrea Bocelli and Barry White.
